Purpose and Mission

“Teach the student first, the music second, and the instrument last.” Music lessons provide a personal and relational environment for learning music theory concepts, technical skills, and musicianship. I believe that music is a vital part of our worship towards God and that each student should have the opportunity to develop this area of their lives. It is also my desire to not only teach students to play technically correct, but also to develop a life-long love of music and its impact on every one of us.

Attendance, Missed Lessons, Rescheduling

Students should be consistent and on time with every lesson. If a lesson is to be missed for any reason, notice should be given at least 24 hours in advance. Should a schedule conflict arise, the first goal is to reschedule the lesson. However, if a lesson cannot be rescheduled and is cancelled with 24 hour notice, the lesson payment will be credited to the following month. Lessons that are cancelled (and unable to be rescheduled) after the 24 hour period will not have the payment credited, with the exception of family and medical emergencies.

Payments

Payments will be made in monthly installments. Invoices will be sent out the 1st of the month and are due by the 5th. Payments will be considered late after the 5th of the month, resulting in a $5 late fee. There will be no refund after the payment is made; however, credit will be given for excused absences (explained in the previous section).

Invoices will be sent through email, and payments can be made in person with cash or check, as well as through Zelle, ApplePay, or CashApp. Please do not pay through the invoice. Checks should be made payable to Ajana Ferner. Receipt of payment will be available through email.

Discontinuation of Lessons

Should a parent/student choose to discontinue lessons, a 2-week notice should be given to the instructor. It is important to have the time to finish what is being worked on in lessons and to discuss what has been accomplished by the student.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your student’s music education! It is a privilege that I do not take lightly. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
