I am a Biotechnologist by training who soon diverted to Bioinformatics. Biotechnology is a discipline covering multiple fields within the scientific environment. In recent years, I have become a specialist in Health Biotechnology and Computational Biology, the two branches of Biotechnology that most claimed my attention.

Coordinated multidisciplinary research conducted by Life and Computer Scientists. Managed Master's and Bachelor's thesis students. Actively participated in lab meetings and brainstorming sessions.

Dr. Maria Dolores Martín-Bermudo research group - Mechanisms regulating cell shape changes and cell migration. Systematized examination of potential cancer co-occurring mutations that enhanced tumorigenesis in Drosophila melanogaster. Modeled mutant flies for genes of interest using CRISPR-Cas9 and other molecular biology tools. Dissected larval wing discs for the quantification of cell migration and invasion through confocal microscopy.

Dr. Ignacio Luque-Romero research group - Aminoacyl tRNA synthetases and translation. Examined the genomic fragility in the cyanobacterium Anabaena. Conducted a computational analysis of tRNAs clusters in accross cyanobacterial genomes.

Dr. Linda Weiss research group. Investigated genome plasticity and differential gene expression in inducible defense systems in Daphnia pulex. Dissected sea fleas brains for immunostaining and quantification of brain growth. Inspected a methodology for automated 3D cell counting in confocal microscopy picture stacks.
