FENIX Research Group is a graduate research team in the Division of Architectural and Fire Protection Engineering at Pukyong National University, supported by the BK21 Four program. It operates under the Structural Engineering Laboratory (co-supervised by Professors Chang-Hwan LEE and Min Jae PARK), while being directly supervised by Professor Min Jae PARK with a focus on structural fire engineering.

“FENIX” stands for Forward Engineers aNd Innovative eXperts, representing our mission to pioneer future-oriented knowledge and technologies for fire-resilient built environments.

Our research spans Performance-Based Structural Fire Design (PBSFD), fire resistance of CFT columns and SC walls, design fire scenarios for electric vehicles, digital twin–based fire risk assessment frameworks, and high-temperature and post-fire material performance evaluation. Through experiments, simulations, and global collaboration, we aim to advance both academic knowledge and practical design guidelines.
