It took some years before I felt qualified or experienced enough to tackle this, my most ambitious composition yet. The transition to a top level brass band contesting piece provides the challenge of maintaining the essence of the original, while simultaneously testing the abilities of individual players in every row, all while providing the audience with an experience that moves them and takes them to new levels of consciousness.
