Ministry of Finance

The Minister of Finance is the highest position in the Ministry of Finance, a ministry of the Executive branch of the Astemic government responsible for:

• The handling of the Federal Reserve Bank of Astem.

• The issuing of currency.

• The maintenance of a strong economy.

• The provision for and the protection of the Silver Standard backing.

The Finance Minister (or Minister of Finance, these titles are used interchangeably) is responsible for overseeing and managing the proceedings of the Ministry of Finance, including bringing to the attention of the Federal Legislature any potential Legislative pitfalls, analyzing and managing the Astemic economy and maintaining a healthy financial and economic standing for Astem in the intermicronational community. In addition, the Minister is responsible for working in cooperation with other Ministries of the Executive branch in order to address issues which require multilateral initiative.

The man on that note is a man by the name of Sol Garreth Davis.
Also known as Garry, this man was a devout World-Federalist and advocated for a United Pan-Human Government.

Davis renounced his American citizenship in protest of the lack of international cooperation and founded the World Service Authority, a well-known NGO which sells prototype Earth-citizen passports and Birth Certificates.

Astem is a nation of people who do not feel at home in their countries of birth or residence.
Given that Davis made such strides in separating himself from a state for which he felt no pride or connection and used his statelessness to protest for something he believed in, he is held as a hero among Astemics.
