The Regional Future Earth Meta-Network & Core-and-Network System (CNS) Meeting, held in the Philippines on 30–31 March 2026, brought together researchers, government representatives, and sustainability practitioners from across Asia to advance the development of a multi-layered sustainability knowledge infrastructure. Discussions focused on strengthening connections among existing networks, knowledge systems, and stakeholder platforms to support science-policy engagement, capacity development, and sustainability action across local, national, and regional scales. The Meta-Network is conducting a survey on Collaboration, Gaps, and Opportunities in Oceans, Marginal Seas, and Coasts to build an evidence-based understanding of existing initiatives and where coordination is most needed. The results will guide the design of a multi-layered, cross-scale network of networks, strengthen linkages with the Asia Science Mission for Sustainability and support strategic alignment across global, regional, national, and local efforts.
