I'm a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Michigan, where I also completed a certificate in Science, Technology, and Society. My primary research area is the history and philosophy of physics, particularly quantum field theory. My supervisor is Laura Ruetsche.
I'm currently the Graduate Student Officer of the Board of Trustees of the Philosophy of Physics Society.
From August to October 2024, I was a Predoctoral Fellow at the Historical Epistemology of the Final Theory Program research group at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, supported by Alexander Blum.
I'm also interested in history and philosophy of science more broadly (especially science and values and feminist philosophy of science, including physics!), early Greek philosophy and science (especially the period between the Presocratics and Plato), feminist epistemologies, the scholarship in teaching and learning, pragmatisms, and Latin American philosophy and science studies.
Before grad school, I studied physics and philosophy at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, where I am originally from.
Starting in June 2026, I'll be based in Southern California for my partner's job while continuing my PhD at Michigan. James Owen Weatherall will be hosting me at UC Irvine's Logic and Philosophy of Science Department. Please reach out if you're nearby!
