I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Michigan, where I am also working toward completing a certificate in Science, Technology, and Society. My dissertation on the epistemology of quantum field theory is supervised by Laura Ruetsche.

From August to October 2024, I'll be a Predoctoral Fellow at the Historical Epistemology of the Final Theory Program research group at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, supervised by Alexander Blum.

Before coming to Michigan, I did my undergraduate studies in physics and philosophy at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, where I am originally from.

My main line of research is on the philosophy/foundations of physics, especially quantum field theory. I coordinate the Foundations of Modern Physics interdisciplinary group at Michigan. I also have broader interests in the history, philosophy, and social studies of science, especially science and values and feminist philosophy of science (and of physics!). I am also interested in early Greek philosophy and science (Presocratics, Plato) and am an "affiliated student" in the program in Ancient Philosophy (meaning that I love the Greeks, but my colleagues love them even more).

Fun fact: my Erdös number is 4 (me → Aiyalam P. Balachandran → Louis Hirsch Kauffman → Frank Harary → Paul Erdös)
