Week 5: Vocabulary (r. 2):
Host: (noun) a person who entertains guests
Scold: (verb) to tell someone in any angry way that he/she has done something wrong
Rude: (adjective) having bad manners
Serious :(adj) not joking
Dart: (verb) to move quickly and suddenly
Sly: (adj) clever and tricky
Fog: (noun) a cloud of small groups of water close to the ground or body of water
Gulp: (verb) to swallow quickly, greedily, or in large amounts
Weary: (adj) very tired
Upset: (Adj) sad, angry, or worried
Dictation Sentences: I will read the sentences and the student will have to write the sentence out on their test. These sentences review a key phonics concept from the week. Please have students practice writing these at home to prepare for the test.
