"From Foster Care to Fearless Futures"
The purpose of the FCAA Wyoming Chapter is to build a strong, supportive community of individuals who have experienced foster care. We work to elevate the voices of alumni, influence policy and practice, and improve outcomes for current and former foster youth across the state.
Mission
Our mission is to connect, support, and empower people with lived experience in foster care in Wyoming, so they can thrive personally, advocate collectively, and drive meaningful change in the child welfare system.
Lived Experience Matters: We believe those who have experienced foster care are the experts of their own stories and should lead the way.
Community & Connection: We create safe spaces for belonging, healing, and mutual support.
Equity & Inclusion: We promote fairness, justice, and respect for all identities and backgrounds.
Advocacy & Action: We speak up and take action to reform policies and practices that affect foster care alumni.
Empowerment Through Leadership: We foster opportunities for alumni to lead, grow, and inspire others.
Peer Support & Mentorship: We connect alumni with one another for encouragement, advice, and healing.
Youth & Alumni Leadership Development: We provide leadership training and opportunities for alumni to influence systems and advocate for change.
Policy Advocacy: We work with lawmakers and agencies to improve laws, programs, and services that impact foster care alumni.
Education & Awareness: We host events, speak at conferences, and share stories to raise awareness about foster care and break stigma.
Resource Navigation: We help alumni access resources related to housing, education, employment, and well-being.
Community Building Events: From support groups to social outings, we create spaces where alumni can feel seen, heard, and valued.
