Faysal Ahmed Imran is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Jackson State University. Faysal is an Epidemiologist, Public Health Researcher and an Educator with nearly a decade of experience. In 2025, Faysal was selected as a Student Research Fellow of the Delta Research and Educational Foundation through the NIH-funded All of Research Program. Faysal completed his Bachelor's degree from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also holds Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Daffodil International University, Bangladesh. He served as an Assistant Professor in Bangladesh, where I focused on Nursing Education, advance public health education and research. Faysal research focused on infectious disease outbreaks, behavioral health and community-level public health practices. He also articulated Alcohol addiction and substances abuse field disparities. Faysal was selected and served as a Research Intern at the Foundation for the Mid South where he contributed to equity-centered public health efforts across Mid-South region including Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana by delivering rigorous, data-driven analysis to inform programs and policy. He analyzed multi-domain public health datasets including obesity, mental health, maternal health and gun violence to quantify disparities and identify at-risk populations. The analytic report impact on synthesizing trends and key socioeconomic drivers and applied statistical methods to convert complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. He collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to ensure findings aligned with health equity priorities and supported real-world decision-making. He has secured different scholarship including The NIH-funded DAIR3 (Data and AI Intensive Research with Rigor and Reproducibility) program at Jackson State University led by the University of Michigan. Beyond his academic activity, Faysal is an active contributor to the Public Health community through professional engagement with APHA, MPHA, AHA and MAS where he stays connected to emerging advances, collaborates with peers and supports the field’s global mission.
