BOG is a 2D survival game where the player attempts to row their way out of a swamp-like environment before a timer runs out.
Three obstacles prevent the player from progressing: First, the control over the player's boat is periodically turned over to a sort of AI doppelganger that moves the boat in usually unhelpful directions. Second, the player is periodically teleported to a random checkpoint in the level. And third, a ghost-like enemy will periodically chase the player, ending the game if it catches them.
I made this for a project in my Creative Computation class, for which we were assigned to create a game depicting "dream logic" using Game Maker Studio 2. I chose to depict the phenomenon sometimes experienced in dreams where the dreamer is unable to move or otherwise control their own body, as well as the idea of past experiences as a sort of haunting ghost.
