Fawdon and Coxlodge Together

Fawdon and Coxlodge Together (FACT) is an organisation that links a number of groups and individuals in our community. Their interests and activities originally came together in our firstprogramme - "Fawdon and Coxlodge. Past, Present and Future". This was an inter-generational project aiming to develop and share an understanding of the history and heritage of Fawdon and Coxlodge. The project also aspired to build a dialogue with residents in order to identify the area's current issues and main challenges. By inviting people of different ages and from different backgrounds to share time, knowledge and experiences within the community, the project continues to aim at giving residents a voice, engaging them in volunteering and working together for the improvement of the community.

The project was intended for delivery between 2018 and 2020 but the timescale was extended because of Covid-19 and a new charity, now registered with the Charity Commission, was established to coordinate this and other projects.  It involves local schools and the wider local community, from ages 0 to 100  - everyone is welcome to come on board and contribute.  The current principal project is to capture the 65-year old story of the Nestle (formerly Rowntree's) factory in Fawdon ahead of its closure at the end of 2023.

Fawdon and Coxlodge Together is managed by volunteers who live in our area and want to share their time, skills and passion to make Fawdon and Coxlodge even better. We have a formal constitution as "Fawdon and Coxlodge Together" and are a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) - charity number 1187736.
