Our pre-activity this week was about making a simple model of desk mobile holder by using cardboard. then, using Fusion 360 to design it and laser cutter to cut the model

I used Autodesk Fusion 360 which is type of CAD programs that help us design our project idea so, later we could cut the designed parts by laser cutting machine . it was my first time to use it.

I used Fusion 360 to draw my design. i watched the guided videos first to practise then, I start to draw my design on paper then, I designed it on fusion.
First, I create sketch then, started to create lines, rectangles, circles and arcs. I also used rectangular patterns and mirrors which make design easier and save times honestly. when I finished designing the first part I pressed " Finish the sketch". then, I extruded it. I repeated this process nearly with each part in the design.

I used laser work to transform the DXF file of the holder into G code to cut it and to adjust all the properties such as speed. I also used laser cutting machine to cut the holder.

If i remembered I told Mariam and Ahmed in my group about my opinion in their project ideas. I also asked Menna about some tools in fusion. Mariam also helped me to launch week 2 journal.

Since it was my first time to use fusion 360 I didn't know it's a cloud based programme and that was my first problem But, I asked Menna and she told me that I should open Wi fi. then when I used fusion it was little hard for me I spend more time to practise well. I also faced problems in delete the mistakes. the part in the pic took time. it was my first one to did so, I was so happy when I've finished :D

By using Fusion 360 I could design the parts of the final projects.
also Practice the different ways to draw the same part makes it better and faster in designing process.
