A Public Cone beam CT (CBCT) Database for content based image retrieval

The objective of medical content-based image retrieval (CBIR) is to assist clinicians in decision-making by retrieving the most similar cases to a given query image from a large database. A medical CBIR system can assist radiologists in the process of clinical decision making by finding the most similar clinical cases to a given case.
The original CBCT data is derived from several educational hospitals and imaging centers, i.e. Taleghani educational hospital, Imam Hossein educational hospital, Guilan University of medical sciences and Farzaneh Momeni dental imaging center.
The database includes multiple image studies from patients with radiolucent lesion, maxillary sinus perforation, unerupted tooth or root fracture. The authors would like to extend thanks to Dr. Dalili and Dr. Momeni for clinical assistance and reviewing the cases. We give this data to the community in the hopes that it will be helpful.
