The modern world is seen as the best version of ourselves we've even been, leaving our current governments not in check.

Political Corruption is exhibited in the two English 10, fiction novel's, Chain Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah and Biography of X by Catherine Lacey.  In Chain Gang All-Stars, prisoners are treated inhumanly, being forced to fight as a death penalty for entertainment purposes. In Biography of X, Catherine Lacey creates an alternate future of the world after WWII where the South secedes from the U.S. directly after WWII, creating a Fascist Theocracy.

Political corruption is covered up by rampant propaganda campaigns to justify their wrong doings. Biography of X and Chain-Gang All-Stars illustrate that corruption is always covered up by some justification or cover-up.
