Farm Structures 2017: Beef/Tillage to Dairy farm conversion

In order to put into use the material we are covering in the workbook we are going to plan the conversion of this 40ha Beef/Tillage farm to a spring calving dairy system.

We will examine the existing facilities and discuss the options for a safe, economic, environmentally sustainable, labour efficient dairy unit.

This will be your plan! There are no right or wrong suggestions. Be open to new ideas and discuss all possibilities.

Remember, a 40 year career on this dairy farm will require approximately 25000 milkings!
