If you are worried about not being able to top up your gas or electric meters and have no one else in your family to financially support you, some power suppliers are offering to send up to two weeks worth of power to families who may be struggling financially due to the outbreak.

Council Tax

The government have announced a £500 million hardship fund. Under this scheme, people in receipt of Council Tax Reduction will receive £150 off their council tax bill for 2020/2021. This is in addition to any support they already receive. The Vale of White Horse District Council isnow confirming the amount each individual qualifying household will receive off their bill – as soon as this is complete, revised bills will be issued.

Where possible, people should continue to pay their bills as normal. If anyone is having difficulty paying their council tax as an impact of the Coronavirus situation, they should contact our council tax team on:
