🥁Service and Outreach
I have been actively engaged in service and mentorship within the mathematics community. At Union College, I served as a faculty co-sponsor for the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) chapter, which has a long tradition of outreach and community-building. In recent years, the chapter has hosted a variety of events, including dinners with math faculty, a meet-and-greet for math majors, a STEP program connecting with local middle and high school students, and a dinner discussion of the film Hidden Figures.
While at Harvard, I had the privilege of co-hosting a session of the Teaching Undergraduate Math Seminar (TUMS), part of the full-semester course Math 300. These seminars are designed to support graduate students in understanding the needs of students in introductory mathematics courses, fostering interactive teaching strategies, and cultivating a growth-oriented approach to pedagogy.
In Fall 2022, I also served as a Peer Tutor Liaison in the Harvard Math Department. In this role, I helped connect students with peer tutoring resources through regular communication with the Academic Resource Center. I also held routine meetings with peer tutors to keep them informed about course content and pacing, promoting effective collaboration and student support within the department.
I was a member of AWM and was on the board of the USC chapter, Charlotte's Web. We regularly held student seminars and networking events, and invited senior female researchers from outside USC to give talks. This helped raise awareness of the contributions of women in mathematics and build up a mentoring network for women at USC.
I have given expository talks at seminars and conferences for both graduate and undergraduate students. Diversity in Mathematics Festival.
I served as a photojournalist at Wimsocal 2017 and the third and the fourth annual Mathematics Festival at USC.
