My name is Fan Tian (田帆). I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Tufts University in 2025, my Master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Johns Hopkins University in 2018, and my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering & Applied Mathematics from the University of Melbourne in 2016.
In Spring 2026, I was a semester postdoc at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM) at Brown University. I will join the math department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Fall 2026 as a postdoctoral researcher.
My main research interest lies in numerical multilinear algebra and algorithms with matrix and tensor-based methods. I am also interested in computer vision and biomedical applications.
