Fan Li 

I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at St. John Fisher University. 

My research interests include empirical corporate finance, political economy, labor and finance, sustainable finance, entrepreneurial finance, and asset pricing.

I received my Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Utah in 2025.

Outside of research and teaching, I enjoy alto saxophone, yoga, marathon, skiing, cycling, hiking, badminton and climbing. Around Rochester, you can often find me along the Erie Canal, on the trails around the Finger Lakes, or at a local gym or café.

Prior to St. John Fisher University, I taught finance at the University of Utah and University of California-Riverside. I earned my B.A. in Economics from Durham University (UK) (2016), M.S. in Quantitative Finance with High Distinction from the University of Glasgow (UK) (2017).
