This is a co-learning process. Often we think we are mere recipients - waiting to receive from other experts, whose role is merely to give to others. But we are all only Channels. We become channels when we open ourselves up to receive and share the Blessings that are passing through, from one person to the other. We are only Channels.
Whilst this is not therapy, participants will have opportunities to share within a safe community their personal and professional experiences relating to grief/loss.
In order to help make your experience relatable and meaningful, we are introducing different language streams for the workgroup sessions, so that you may have the option to speak in your own mother tongue. The workgroup session will be available in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Mandarin. Other languages (eg. Japanese and Korean) will also be made available, should there be at least 5 people to form a group. You can indicate your preferred language in the registration form.
There will be different topics for you to choose from. You could either select one of the two given topics (Social Dreaming, Expressive Art) that will be conducted in English; or choose one of the Open Topic workgroups. Should you decide to join the Open Topic workgroups, please feel free to propose a topic of your choice when signing up! You may refer to some examples of proposed topics of interest below.
There is a total of 3 workgroup sessions, each one is 90 minutes. Participants will remain in their choice of workgroup for all 3 sessions. This will help to create a sense of safety within the group membership.
Each workgroup will be led by an experienced group facilitator and limited to no more than 10 participants. This will ensure that everyone is given the opportunity and space to share during the sessions. We will try our best to assign people in accordance to your indicated choice of workgroups, however please note that this is on a first come first served basis.
Social Dreaming is a way of working with dreams where the focus is on the dream and not the dreamer, where dreams are shared amongst people who come together solely for this purpose. In a Social Dreaming process, participants are invited to offer their dreams and, through association, explore the possible social meanings contained within them. Join this Workgroup to discover our collective preoccupations and unthought knowns, and to facilitate new shared thinking about your own and others’ grief experiences.
This is an art process group where you don’t have to know how to draw or paint. Just come as you are. Art making is a powerful yet safe non-verbal means of expression that is both gentle and yet allows participants to explore deeper aspects of their own grief journey into areas that they may not yet be fully aware of but often contain meaningful insights and useful resources to discover. The group provides a safe container for exploration and support in being together in this process of self-discovery.
