What started as a small FFA project by Joseph and Christian, with the assistance of their younger siblings our Alexandre organic pastured hens have grown to support a thriving business that is recognized for its exemplary farming practices and superior quality of eggs.

Your yogurt is delicious! I was looking for a grass-fed product and it tastes so good I was compelled to check out your web site and your story. I love everything about it. Thanks for your devotion and commitment to regenerative farming.

As we close out 2023, we want to thank each of you who has helped our little farm grow into an amazing outdoor learning space for children of all ages and abilities. We look forward to a new year of learning adventures with our youth, and community gathering with each of you, our Clarkston Family Farm friends. Have fun and be safe this holiday season, and make sure to allow a little joy and relaxation in.

At Jones Family Farm, we have been making cheese on a small scale (yes, just the two of us) for nearly 20 years. We know many of our customers and their families by name and have talked about their hopes and dreams. We are, by extension, their family, too.

We have enjoyed the shortest of food chains, making and selling direct to those that use our products in their kitchens.

In 1998 Wade and Kim Kuipers opened their 71 acre pumpkin patch to the public in the hopes that families would enjoy the simple pleasures of a fall day spent on a beautiful Midwest farm, as they found they enjoyed it with their three children.

While the little fall happening has changed quite a bit, Wade and Kim have tried to remain true to their original vision of offering a farm experience to their customers that is as close to what you might really find on a Midwest farm as you can get without having to get dirty. While there is a lot to look at on the farm, this is certainly no museum. Instead running, climbing, adventure, fresh air, unique photo ops and classic fall flavors are growing here by the bushel and now two generations of Kuipers are here to welcome you each fall!

Our farm exists to provide quality poultry products in a way that ensures happy and healthy animals, community, and farmers. We currently offer pasture raised chicken and duck for meat and eggs and are based out of Newport, NC.

1) Al's is a 47 year, 3rd generation, American family owned business. We strive to grow, harvest, pack and ship the highest quality, local, Florida fruit. Al's proudly features more local citrus varieties than anyone in the Indian River growing region.

I've been using this body butter for over a year now, and have given it to many friends and family who are also addicted now! I have chronic hives, which means I can't use scented or unnatural products on my skin. I'm also a nurse and wash my hands all day long. This stuff is heavenly! It smells delicious and melts right into your skin. I also put it on my 5 year old every night before bed as a soothing and relaxing part of our bedtime routine. I also love that it's locally made by an organization that puts so much heart into our community. Win win!

Schilter Family Farm is the place to make family traditions in the South Sound. For over 80 years and spanning 4 generations, the Schilter family has farmed and shaped the Nisqually Valley from a dairy farm into the agritourism farm it is today. Over the past 25+ years, Jeff, Stephanie, their family, friends and staff have worked hard to create good old fashioned fun for families in our community to enjoy.

It took us about 25 minutes to get there from West Hartford. Prior to hearing about this farm, I had never heard of Bolton, Connecticut. I really had no idea where it was located. So, in case you are in the same boat as me, Bolton is located off 384 near Manchester. Here is a little map with Bolton marked by the pin drop.

The dairy store is pretty small inside, but they have lots of goodies available for purchase. You can obviously get a variety of dairy products straight from the Fish Family Farm cows including: regular milk, chocolate milk, heavy cream, cheese, and ice cream. They also sell eggs produced by chickens on the farm and they offer some products from other local farms including honey from a farm in Tolland and sauces and condiments from the Country Butcher which is also based out of Tolland.

There is a sign in the store stating that kids should not be sent into the barn unsupervised. That is an important point. While the kids can certainly go into the barn and explore it and the rest of the farm, you do want to keep a close eye on them.

Ordered lamb through this farm. The meat was properly processed and absolutely delicious. Customer service and communication was top notch. You can tell they take their business seriously and pride themselves on a good, quality product.

A farm is defined as any place from which $1,000 or more of agricultural products were produced and sold, or normally would have been sold, during the year. Since the definition allows for farms to be included even if they did not have at least $1,000 in sales, but normally would have, a system is developed by USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) for determining when a farm normally would have. These are called point farms. If a place does not have $1,000 in sales, a "point system" assigns dollar values for acres of various crops and head of various livestock species to estimate a normal level of sales. Point farms are farms with less than $1,000 in sales but with points worth at least $1,000. Point farms tend to be very small. Some, however, may normally have much higher sales, but experience low sales in a particular year due to bad weather, disease, changes in marketing strategies, or other factors. For farms with production contracts, the value of the commodities produced is used, not the amount of the fees they receive. Changes are made to the point system over time. For example, beginning with the 1997 Census of Agriculture, operations receiving $1,000 or more in Federal Government payments were counted as farms, even if they had no sales and otherwise lacked the potential to have $1,000 or more in sales. And, for 2002, a farm that had $500 point value and $500 in government payments was considered a farm. This would not have been true for the 1997 Census. The most recent Census of Agriculture is for 2017 (USDA, NASS. 2017 Census of Agriculture, United States, Summary and State Data, Vol. 1, Geographic Area Series, Part 51, April 2019). More than one-quarter of farms have no sales in a typical year, and at least another 30 percent have positive sales of less than $10,000. 2351a5e196
