Families Together is a parent-led initiative dedicated to fostering community within the SD TLC hybrid and homeschool populations. Year after year, we've seen our students and families struggle to form meaningful connections and feel a true sense of belonging at school. With TLC’s small class sizes and limited on-campus time, we believe this is a unique opportunity—not a barrier—for parents and guardians to come together and build a vibrant, supportive environment.
Our goal is not only to create a healthy community for our kids, but to empower them with the tools and experiences they need to grow their own village. Through shared events, inclusive activities, and intentional outreach, Families Together is helping bridge gaps, spark friendships, and nurture a culture of connection.
We invite you to join us—whether you're a seasoned TLC parent or just starting your journey. Your energy, ideas, and presence can make a real difference. Together, we can build the kind of community our kids deserve.
Families Together hosts gatherings throughout the year to foster friendships and deepen our sense of community. Right now, we’re organizing events for middle and high school students, grownup gatherings, and casual get‑togethers during meeting weeks. We’re also working to build community not only among families, but with our dedicated faculty and staff—showing appreciation by bringing sweet treats and fresh coffee to brighten their day. And on occasion, friends from TLC join us, making these gatherings even more special. As this initiative grows, we hope to expand these offerings—creating more opportunities for everyone to connect, share experiences, and celebrate what makes our community unique.
