How will we communicate effectively throughout the semester? 

1. Announcements will be made when necessary. 

2. All Canvas Inbox emails that are received will have a response within 24 hours. If you send a message over the weekend, I will respond on Monday. It will be easier for me to keep track if we communicate via Canvas Inbox. Outlook email can get overwhelming with all of RCC's multiple emails. 

3. I may not be able to participate in every Discussion Board however, I will read every post and I may respond. As always I will try to my best to answer all the discussions.

4. You can expect either a written or a video response to your video projects. Be sure to read directions. 

Since we are humans, there may be some challenges on my end to meet this plan and you will get notifications when that happens. I hope you will have flexibility and understanding.

Equity in the course

I am committed to the creation and maintenance of "inclusive learning" spaces. These are classrooms (in person and online), labs, and other places of learning where you will be treated with respect and dignity and where all individuals are provided equitable opportunity to participate, contribute, and succeed. In ASL 1, all students are welcome regardless of race/ethnicity, gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, disabilities, religion, regional background, citizenship status, nationality, and other diverse identities that we each bring to class. The success of an inclusive classroom relies on the participation, support, and understanding of you and your peers. I encourage you to speak up and share your views, but also understand that you are doing so in a learning environment in which we all are expected to engage respectfully.
