Check out just some of the awesome resources available to you as a San Diego Mesa College student!
Accommodations
As your guide for this semester, I want to ensure that everyone in our community has a seat at the table. I strive to create an inclusive and brave space where we can dream and ideate but also uplift and take care of one another. This includes my providing accessible course materials and meeting the diverse needs of all our scholars. I am here for you. Please let me know if you have concerns or if I have overlooked something in our materials. In addition to my advocacy, we also have access to some really great campus resources through Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS). For those scholars who already have written accommodations, please contact me during our first week of school, so we can collaborate on how I can best support you.
Tutoring
Did you know that you have access to free tutoring–both online and in person–all summer? You can “drop in” or make an appointment by visiting MT2C Online & In Person Tutoring, which is also available on the homepage of our Canvas shell.
Tutoring is available Monday to Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. When you log in to Zoom, you will be placed in a brief, online waiting room, and you should have your CSID ready. If our tutors aren't available or their hours don’t fit your schedule, you can also use STAR-CA and/or NetTutor, which is available 24/7. Both services and tech support are available on the MT2C Canvas Page
Library
Our library, also known as the Learning Resource Center (LRC), is open for the summer: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The LRC can also support you with research 24/7. All you have to do is Ask A Librarian!
To speak to someone at the LRC, here are the most frequently used contacts:
619-388-2893 | DSPS High Tech Center
619-388-2975 | DSPS High Tech Center - TTY (text telephone)
619-388-2696 | Circulation Desk (check-out, renewals, and course reserves)
619-388-2695 | Library General Information
619-388-2660 | Reference Desk
Counseling
Mesa College counselors are also here to guide you at any stage of your educational journey. They offer a host of Counseling Services, from quick questions to drop-in counseling to appointments.
Technology Support
If you need help regarding technology, our campus provides tech support specifically for students. For questions or concerns about Canvas, there is a “Help” button in the global menu of every Canvas shell. There you will find options for tech support via chat or a 24/7 hotline, both geared toward students. If you want to try to figure out the answer by yourself first, there are a host of Online Student Tutorials and a repository of Canvas Guides.
Even More Student Support Services!
We have a rich menu of Student Support Services that include CalWORKS, the Career Center, Student Health Services, The Stand: Basic Needs Resource Center, and many more.
