General Assembly
Disarmament & International Security Committee
With political strife now more common than ever, it is of exceeding importance to acknowledge the issues that our world faces. This year, delegates will be addressing and finding solutions to matters such as state-sponsored violence and illicit arms trade. As DISEC delegations, you will have the chance to discuss and negotiate these important subjects, as well as to put forth proposals that can improve state-to-state cooperation and trust, lower the risks, and further the objective of ending unnecessary violence and promoting international security. This is a double delegation, so delegates must be paired to represent one country/state.
Specialized/Historical Body
The Cold War, 1955
It’s 1955 and tensions are running high in the Cold War. The world is being forced to pick a side: the United States of America or Russia? Third-world countries are hoping to avoid involvement in this conflict and possibly make their own alliance as the Bandung Conference takes place in Indonesia. Several important events have happened recently that will greatly affect the outcome of this world during this period of geopolitical tension. As a delegate, you will have to navigate this war of ideologies while trying to prevent proxy wars and combat between these two powerful sides. The fate of the future is up to you.
Crisis Committees
The Martian: Mission to Earth
Mark Watney is stranded on Mars after a failed mission and with the help of your fellow officials, astronauts, and businessmen, it is your task to bring him home. However, this proves difficult, as with little to no forms of communication, and not much time left to build a spacecraft, hope is running out. You must navigate country and company rivalries and decide what space restrictions are necessary and unnecessary before time runs out, and Mark Watney is stranded on Mars, forever.
Murder in Peppaville: Pig Turned Bacon
There was once a time when nothing wrong occurred in Peppaville. But now, a murder has occurred, and the victim is none other than beloved mayor, Peppa Pig. Delegates representing the townsfolk of "perfect" Peppaville, must work together, using their individuals skills and eliminating their weaknesses, to discover the murderer of the town's most loved resident. They must face competitive and challenging elections to select a new and devoted mayor. And together, as a town and as a community, must find a solution to work towards the restoration of peace in Peppaville, before undercover and unknown evil forces take control of the once peaceful town of Peppaville, and before the world dissolves into chaos.
