A New Technology-Aid During Social Distancing
In this project, I was introduced to the knowledge of UX design for the first time. I went through the process of UXD with my teammates. From empathizing to evaluating, I learned to do the very first iteration and gained some insights from these activities. The most impressive activity was learning how to conduct empathizing activity via interviews with potential users to explore their actual demands. Except conducting interviews independently, I also completed the affinity diagram, creating codes and themes, brainwriting, COCD Box task and scenario writing with my teammates reading the texts online, summarizing and sorting the information.
At the end of the project, my teammates and I made a storyboard with a video demonstration as a prototype to introduce the technology which could help people adhere to the 1.5-meter distance measure during the COVID time. The main technology that was chosen for the prototype consists of a light projector that will be attached to the bottom of a shopping cart, that will project a light circle with a diameter of 1.5-meter around the shopping cart user. I was responsible for editing the video pitch according to the script that was discussed by the group.
In this Project, I...
Conducted semi-structured interviews to get a thorough, contextually appropriate representation of the target group
Analyzed the transcribed interviews, transformed the data into affinity diagrams and categorized topics into themes in Miro with teammates
Used a brain writing method to generate possible solutions to the problem and applied COCD box to cluster the ideas based on the level of innovation and feasibility with teammates
COCD box was applied to cluster the ideas based on the level of innovation and feasibility.
Evaluated the low fidelity prototype (storyboard) with the “I like, I wish, What if”-method to organized the feedback
Edited video pitch to present the design
