Fajr Circle helps trusted friends encourage one another to wake up and pray Fajr. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled. Fajr Circle does not sell personal information and does not use advertising trackers.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We may store your chosen or automatically generated display name, country, city, time zone, optional phone or WhatsApp number, circle memberships, wake-up nudges, awake and prayed check-ins, check-in times, and streak information. The app also uses a device session identifier and, if you enable alerts, a push-notification token. If you contact support, we may keep the information contained in your request.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
Your country, city, and time zone are used to calculate and display local Fajr times. Circle information is used to let members invite trusted friends, send wake-up nudges, view check-in status, and maintain streaks. Push-notification tokens are used only to deliver notifications you have enabled.
WHAT YOUR CIRCLE CAN SEE
Members of your circle may see your display name, city or location label, local Fajr time, wake and prayer check-in status, check-in time, streaks, and any optional phone number you provide. Optional phone numbers are not displayed publicly outside your circle.
SERVICE PROVIDERS
Prayer times are requested from AlAdhan. Hosting and storage use Cloudflare-backed infrastructure. Mobile builds and push notifications may use Expo and Apple services. These providers may process limited information as necessary to operate their services and are subject to their own privacy terms.
SHARING OF INFORMATION
Fajr Circle does not sell or rent your personal information. Information may be shared with members of your chosen circle, with service providers required to operate the app, when reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users, or when required by law.
NOTIFICATIONS AND WAKE-UP ALERTS
Notifications are optional. You may decline notification permission or disable alerts in your device settings. Notifications and wake-up sounds can be delayed or suppressed by iOS, Focus modes, network conditions, device settings, or other technical limits. Fajr Circle should not be relied on as an emergency service or as a guaranteed alarm clock.
YOUR CHOICES
Your name and phone number are optional. If you leave the name blank, the app may create a display name for you. You may edit your profile and location, decline notifications, leave an optional phone field blank, or delete your account from inside the app.
ACCOUNT DELETION
Open Fajr Circle, tap Settings, and select “Delete my account.” Confirming deletion permanently removes your profile, active sessions, circle memberships, check-ins, streak records, and nudges associated with your account. If you own a circle with other members, ownership may pass to another member. An empty circle may be deleted.
DATA RETENTION
Account data is retained while your account remains active. When you use the in-app deletion feature, associated account data is removed, except when limited temporary retention is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, technical recovery, or legal compliance. Support information is kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond and maintain appropriate support records.
SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No online service or electronic storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
CHILDREN
Fajr Circle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may use the Support page to request assistance.
INTERNATIONAL USE
Fajr Circle may be used in different countries and time zones. Information may be processed in locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards and service-provider terms.
PRAYER-TIME NOTICE
Prayer times can vary by calculation authority, method, elevation, and local practice. Fajr Circle identifies its calculation source when available and should not be treated as an official local mosque timetable. Users should follow a trusted local authority when times differ.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as the app changes. The current version and updated date will appear on this page.
