In this course, the student will be introduced with Internet of Things and its role in IR4.0. Next, design an embedded IoT gateway and IoT devices. Configure IoT end-to-end systems from IoT devices to the cloud. Create the operations of various I/O devices. Set up wireless local area network (WLAN) 802.11, Bluetooth LE and ZigBee wireless connectivity. Apply industry standard software tools in IoT development. Evaluate I/O signals and troubleshoot IoT systems using industry-grade test and measurement instrument

REAL WORLD CHALLENGE
Student is given a real world challenge instead of a set question. The challenge could be in a form of a Trigger where student identify the issue that can be address using knowledge on the subject matter. For example, using this image, student can identify the issue that need solving and planned a creative solution using the knowledge they've learned in this course.

Then, students will embark into a brainstorming phase where they carefully identify and define the problem. Tools such as FILA can be use.

How do you like this course?
"I can do practical works and know the functionalities, connections and specifications of each elements better. Besides, I can learn different data communications between the hardware and software (Favoriot, Thingspeak and Blynk). "

What's your favourite activity ?
"I think all activities in this course is my favourite but the most favourite is PBL activity. This enhanced my skills in hardware and software. It also helps me to figure out how to use DMP ( blynk etc). This will help me alot in FYP2!"
