In this course, the student will be introduced with Internet of Things and its role in IR4.0. Next, design an embedded IoT gateway and IoT devices. Configure IoT end-to-end systems from IoT devices to the cloud. Create the operations of various I/O devices. Set up wireless local area network (WLAN) 802.11, Bluetooth LE and ZigBee wireless connectivity. Apply industry standard software tools in IoT development. Evaluate I/O signals and troubleshoot IoT systems using industry-grade test and measurement instrument

Student is given a real world challenge instead of a set question. The challenge could be in a form of a Trigger where student identify the issue that can be address using knowledge on the subject matter. For example, using this image, student can identify the issue that need solving and planned a creative solution using the knowledge they've learned in this course.
Then, students will embark into a brainstorming phase where they carefully identify and define the problem. Tools such as FILA can be use.

Based on problem definition, a suitable solution can be proposed in line with the context of subject matter. In this case, IoT.
