I completed my bachelor's studies in 2016 at the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Science (PIEAS) in Pakistan, majoring in Electronics. I was awarded a gold medal for achieving the overall first position with an accumulative GPA of 3.95 out of 4.0. Throughout my academic journey, I received cash prizes each year during my B.Sc. for outstanding performance. My honors thesis focused on implementing a real-time brain imaging system for fNIRS signals on an FPGA with an HDMI interface to develop a color map on a 3D brain template for visualizing activity at electrode locations
In 2017, I became a Lab Engineer/Teaching Assistant at Ghulam Ishaq Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIKI), where I conducted instructional sessions and managed the Instrumentation Lab. My responsibilities included teaching lab materials, designing comprehensive lab sessions, and overseeing experiments related to sensors, transducers, and machine visualization using LabView. Furthermore, I played a key role in assessing semester projects and creating exam rubrics.
In 2018, I began working as a Research Officer at the Center for Quality Testing and Certification within the National Institute of Electronics in Pakistan. My responsibilities primarily involved the calibration and certification of electronic equipment. During this role, I gained expertise in uncertainty analysis for various tests including high-voltage testing, luminance testing, high-current testing, discharge testing, and environmental tests. Additionally, a crucial aspect of my job was generating certificates with meticulously documented experimental results.
In 2018, I was privileged to be selected as a Commonwealth Shared Scholar to pursue a Master's program at the University of Strathclyde in the Electronic and Electrical Department. Once again, I excelled in my studies and received the Best Academic Award certificate. My project centered on the implementation of the Physical Layer 5G NR on RFSoC utilizing super sample rate filters.
Presently, I am a Commonwealth Ph.D. scholar at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, enrolled in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the Center for Signal and Image Processing. My research focuses on addressing broadband sensor arrays data problems through polynomial matrix factorization. I have successfully developed over 10 algorithms that are computationally efficient and more accurate than existing state-of-the-art algorithms. For more information, please visit my projects page.
