SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: For the first time in program history, an Endicott goalie has earned All-America recognition as Minickene has been named a Second Team All-American.
The recognition is the fourth postseason honor this fall for the sophomore after being named to the NFHCA All-Region First Team, Conference of New England (CNE) Goalkeeper of the Year, and a selection to the All-CNE First Team.
Minickene was one of just four goalies to be selected among the three NFHCA All-America squads.
The Madison, Conn. native became the program's second-ever NCAA Statistical champion as she led Division III in save percentage at .893, which is the second-highest in program history for a single season.
She also finished the year ranked sixth nationally and set a new program record for Goals Against Average in a season at 0.76. Her 20 wins this season are also a single-season program record.
2025 CNE GOALIE OF THE YEAR: Minickene, the reigning Goalkeeper of the Year in the conference, has continued her excellence in the goal this season as she currently has an 18-1 record, allowing just 12 goals all season (0.67 goals against average) and a .899 save percentage.
The sophomore has six shutouts this season and three games with 10 or more saves, including 18 in the victory over No. 1 Middlebury. For her efforts in the contest, Minickene was named National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Defensive Player of the Week, just the third student-athlete in program history to earn the distinction.
Her save percentage not only ranks first in the conference but highest among 150 goalies ranked across Division III. The Madison, Conn. native also ranks sixth nationally in Goals Against average.
2025 ALL-CNE FIRST TEAM: Minickene earned her second consecutive all-region selection after being named to the second team in 2024. The CNE Goalkeeper of the Year finished the year with a 0.76 GAA, 133 saves, a .893 save percentage, and a 20-2 record for the Gulls. The sophomore ranks first in wins in a single season, first in GAA, second in save percentage, sixth in saves, and tied for sixth in shutouts with six. CNE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Minickene led the Gulls to a 2-0 record this week. The sophomore recorded 15 saves (1.00 save percentage) and a 0.00 goals against average in 105 minutes of action. On Wednesday in the 7-1 victory over Simmons, Minickene made five saves in 45 minutes of action. She followed that up against Johnson & Wales by stopping 10 shots in a 5-0 win, the 11th shutout win of the year for the Gulls. 8 of her saves came in the second quarter as the Wildcats had 10 shots. Today's announcement is Minickene's third career CNE Weekly Award (9/23/24, 9/29/25) and second this season.
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey sophomore goalkeeper Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) have been named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Defensive Player of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday morning.
The sophomore becomes the second student-athlete in program history to earn NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week honors along with Taylor Farrin and joins Sophia Cogliano as the only three student-athletes to earn recognition from the NFHCA.Minickene was also named Conference of New England (CNE) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for her outstanding play as she recorded an undefeated 3-0 record.
Her highlight performance during the week was an 18-save performance in a 2-1 (OT) victory over No. 1 Middlebury, which helped propel the Gulls to their highest national ranking ever at No. 12.After Endicott tied the game in the fourth quarter, Minickene made two crucial stops and the defense thwarted off three Panther penalty corner opportunities. Then in overtime, the Madison, Conn. native's 18th save of the contest stopped a breakaway opportunity and allowed the Gulls to regain possession, setting up the opportunity for Tori Swanson's game-winner.
FAITH MINICKENE, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Minickene led the Gulls to a perfect 3-0 record on the week. The sophomore recorded 25 saves (.926 save percentage) and a 0.77 goals against average in 156:50 total minutes of action.
Against No. 1 Middlebury, Minickene finished the contest with 18 saves (ranks sixth all-time in a single game) and a .947 save percentage. She made a clutch save in overtime as the Panthers had a breakaway opportunity. After the Gulls tied the game, Minickene and the defense fended off three penalty corners, and the netminder made two big stops.
She started the week versus Southern Maine by stopping seven shots (.875 save percentage) and then picked up the win against Gordon in 30 minutes of action. This marks Minickene's second career CNE Defensive Player of the Week award (9/23/24).
