Since 2009, the Fairview Speech and Debate team has held the Fairview Fling or Freeze (depends on which month we host the tournament!) every year roughly around Valentine's Day.
It is the only varsity tournament held in Boulder and it draws schools from across the state, even Wyoming! Since 2011, it has pulled in around 35 teams and been larger than the State tournament!
Judging
Each year we need 60+ judges to run our tournament. You do not need to have any specific training to be a judge, but we will host a judging clinic the morning of the tournament if you are interested.
Food for Coach and Judge Lunch
We provide food to all of our judges and coaches –that’s over 100 people-- for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Please help us by donating an item for one of these meals. If we do not receive enough donations, we will have to purchase food.
Concessions Stand
We run a concessions stand for all students for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We need help managing volunteer students and managing the stand. You may do things like: remind students to clean up, make a run to the bank for more change, and help facilitate ordering pizza.
Serving Coach and Judge Lunch
We want to make certain that the needs of all of our judges and coaches are met and having a few adults nearby during lunch to help ensure food is set up, monitored, and cleaned is a huge help.
Finally, have a connection to company that can help donate food? Please let us know!
