Our 2025 workshop consisted of four Socratic seminars addressing philosophical issues in Theoretical Historical Linguistics such as the locus of linguistic change and the realism of reconstructed forms in addition to deep dives into models of change and evaluations of synchronic theory in terms of its ability to account for change. We hope to come back bigger and better in 2026 with ETHL the Summer School! We are currently applying for funding which if successful will support a week long school with a series of classes dedicated to the study of Theoretical Historical Linguistics from leading Theoretical Historical Linguists.
