On 7 June 2019, I have organised together with Dr Valerie Pattyn and Dr Fabrizio Di Mascio an international workshop on evaluating regulation and regulatory impact assessment. I have also presented two papers: one with Valerie Pattyn on the role of private consultancy on EU railway liberalisation, one with Johan Cristensen and Fabrizio Di Mascio on citation analysis of the Italian competition authority's market analyses.
In July and August 2018, I visited the Institute of Public Administration, University of Leiden. I have started collaborating with Dr Valerie Pattyn on the consultancry and EU impact assessment.
In March and April 2018, I visited the Department of Political Science at the University of Heidelberg. It was a really productive periods with a couple of papers co-authored with Prof. Jale Tosun.
I presented a paper at the Workshop on Policy Evaluation in the EU, organised by Organised by Dr. Paul Stephenson with Prof. Frans Leeuw at the Campus Brussels of the University of Maastricht. Find my presentation here.
I presented a paper at the international symposium on Regulatory Impact Assessment organised by the European Court of Auditors. The paper analyses the quality of economic analysis of IAs conducted for the EU rail liberalisation. DG MOVE IAs are assessed according to the quality of economic models and constrasted with the models used by the economists for assessing the impact of liberalisation on railway companies productivity and efficiency.
