Our mission is to:

• Advocate for the localization of a semiconductor foundry in Catalonia.
  We believe that this would bring significant economic benefits to the region, create jobs, and strengthen European's technological sovereignty.

• Foster collaboration between industry, academia, and government.
  We believe that working together is the best way to achieve our goals of innovation, growth, and competitiveness.

• Develop talent and skills in the semiconductor industry.
  We believe that a strong workforce is essential for the future of the industry, and we are committed to providing training and education opportunities.

• Contribute to the achievement of the objectives of reindustrialization and resilience of the European Chips Act. We believe that the FabCat initiative can play a key role in helping Europe achieve its goals of reducing its reliance on foreign semiconductors and becoming more resilient to supply chain disruptions.

We are working on some projects to achieve our mission, including:

• FabCat Manifest Revision 2:
  This document, MF-FabCat-20230509-EFB-01-01 – FabCat Manifest Revision #02, outlines our vision for the future of the semiconductor industry in Catalonia and our recommendations for how to achieve it.

• FabCat Academy Resilience Hub:

• European Network of Semiconductor Resilience and Skills Fabs (ERSFabs) Manifest:
  This proposal, detailed in document MF-FabCat-20250505-EFB-01-01 - European Network of Semiconductor Resilience and Skills Fabs (ERSFabs), outlines a European-level network based on the FabCat Academy Resilience Hub model. It focuses on enhancing Europe's semiconductor resilience, skills development, and SME access to technology. This manifest is currently in a period of active international support gathering. We invite interested experts and organizations to endorse this crucial initiative for Europe's technological sovereignty.

• FabCat Ecosystem:
  This strategic initiative aims to support the development of Catalonia’s semiconductor ecosystem by mitigating legislative risks at the European, national, and regional levels. Its first key action is to coordinate participation in the review of the EU Chips Act (Chips Act 2) to ensure a favourable environment for growth and success.
