Privacy Policy for HYF Parents

Eric Jensen (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the HYF Parents mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect 

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it. Specifically, if you choose to submit a Field Note in the App, we ask for your:

• Name

• Email address

We use this information solely to:

• Give you credit for the Field Note you submitted, and

• Send you a thank-you message.

If you do not submit a Field Note, we do not collect this information.

Information We Do Not Collect 

We do not collect, and the App does not automatically gather:

• Precise or approximate location data

• Contacts, photos, or files

• Payment or financial information

• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or persistent tracking data

• Analytics or usage data through third-party tracking services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

How We Use Your Information 

We use the name and email you submit with a Field Note only for the two purposes stated above (crediting you and thanking you). We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

Sharing of Information 

We do not share your personal information with third parties. We do not use third-party advertising, analytics, or data-broker services. We may disclose information only if required to do so by law or valid legal process.

Children’s Privacy 

The App is intended for families and may be used by both parents and children. We take children’s privacy seriously and comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Google Play’s Families policy, and Apple’s guidelines for apps directed at children.

• We collect a name and email only when a Field Note is voluntarily submitted, and only for crediting and thanking the contributor.

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

• If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information you would like removed, please contact us at ezjensen@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

Data Retention and Deletion 

We retain the name and email associated with a submitted Field Note only as long as needed to credit you and respond. You may request that we delete your information at any time by emailing ezjensen@gmail.com. We will honor deletion requests promptly.

Data Security 

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information you provide. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take steps to safeguard your data against unauthorized access.

Your Rights 

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have submitted, or to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at ezjensen@gmail.com.

Changes to This Policy 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
