Stone Weir Repair Experience

In addition to wading and enjoying the sea, how about experiencing something different in Xinwu? Listen to the legendary stories of the century-old stone weirs, and you'll discover the harmonious relationship between nature and humanity. You'll be amazed to find that the seemingly ordinary stone piles conceal the wisdom of our ancestors, still astonishing people even a hundred years later. The largest stone weir group on the island of Taiwan awaits your exploration.

The century-old stone weir group, often referred to as the "Great Wall of the Sea" along the west coast of Taiwan, not only holds rich cultural significance but also serves as an excellent place to observe coastal ecology. On the stone embankments, you can encounter intertidal creatures such as stone oysters, conches, shrimp, crabs, and during high tide, witness the enchanting bloom of sea anemones. The diverse and abundant ecological groups make every corner a highlight. Although the stone weirs no longer play a role in sustaining fishermen's livelihoods today, they stand as historical relics of ancestral wisdom.

Yong'an Conch Cultural Park

The park is centered around the Xinwu Yong'an Fishing Port, integrating the Hakka marine industry axis (Taiwan's Provincial Highway 61 and 15), surrounding Hakka settlements, temples, and related industries.
