Mission Statement
EXTREME ST. LOUIS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION MISSION STATEMENT
Extreme St. Louis Charitable Foundation shall provide shelter needs and direct financial assistance to caregivers and organizations that provide for the holistic care of those suffering from genetic birth disorders that result in long-term care.
COFFEE SHOP PURPOSE & FUNCTION
The building and equipment of More Than Coffee located at 14240 Manchester Road in Manchester, Missouri was purchased on September 1, 2016. The foundation registered the More Than Coffee fictitious name with the State of Missouri and seamlessly assumed business operations from the Lois A. Malek Trust. The purpose was to provide a physical retail business environment in which those individuals with genetic or long-term physical and/or mental disabilities may be encouraged to interact with other individuals, volunteers, and the public. The coffee shop will function as a retail business engaged in the sale of beverages and food during breakfast and lunch from Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays.
COFFEE SHOP TRAINING PROGRAM
The coffee shop will train individuals with genetic or long-term physical and/or mental disabilities. Counsel and advice will be provided to foster interpersonal relational skills and responsible behavior within a business environment. Individuals will be instructed how to ask questions and undertake tasks that maximize their effective work performance. Newly acquired business and life skills will enable these individuals to become productive members of society to the degree they are able. The resultant part-time or full time employment opportunities may lessen shelter needs to the extent where independent living may be achievable. The training will be accomplished primarily by trained volunteers and supplemented, if required, by paid employees and/or professionals.
