Frequently Asked Questions
What type of expeditions do you organise?
Al-Nahdee Travels offers two types of Expeditions – Fixed Departures and Customized Tours.
As part of our Fixed Departures, you will be self-driving your vehicle (or travel in our vehicle) in a convoy of vehicles (or our solo vehicle).
Customized Tours are those where you travel on your own chosen dates and we can customize the route as per your preferences. For such journeys, we make all necessary travel arrangements including hotel bookings, permits, excursions and if required, we can send a support team with the group.
Can I bring my own vehicle?
Yes you can bring your vehicle for our expeditions. However, if you are bringing your own vehicle, it must be pre-approved by us to ensure that it is suitable for your chosen expedition. Also, you must be the legal owner of the vehicle or have written authority from the vehicle owner, with the requisite paperwork showing ownership. You must also ensure that your vehicle has appropriate luggage space that is capable of carrying your personal belongings for the whole journey.
Whilst there is no restriction on what brand of vehicle you can bring, your vehicle must be capable of riding on and off road and be in a good working order to prevent any unnecessary hold-ups on the road.
For the procedure and cost of bringing your own vehicle to our expedition, visit the page Participating Vehicles' Policy.
Can you provide me with a vehicle?
As of now, we haven't started providing vehicles for our participants. Maybe in the near future we start providing vehicles for our participants to drive and explore.
Can children join these expeditions?
Children under 3 years of age can only join in their parent's vehicles. In our vehicle we don't accept children under 3 years of age.
Do children will have to pay same as adults?
Children's from 3 to 5 years of age will only pay for their visas. Children's from 5 to 10 years will pay 50%. Anyone having age of more than 10 years will pay full cost.
Is it safe to travel through Balochistan?
Yes it is. Although Baluchistan is notorious for it's law & order situation, we haven't face anything strange till now. There are plenty of FC check-points on the Highway from Quetta to Taftan (after every 30-40 km). Also we drive in day time which makes it safer for us to travel in these areas.
In which parts of the world do you organize expeditions?
As of now, we organize expeditions from Pakistan to Iran, Turkey and Dubai.
We also organize expeditions within Pakistan in a camper van to the northern areas like Hunza, Gilgit, Swat, Kashmir etc.
Do you have any future plans of expanding your expeditions to other countries?
Yes indeed but it depends on the people's response to our existing expeditions. We have plans to expand our expeditions to Europe (2 months trip), Azerbaijan (if border gets open), Saudi Arabia (1 month Umrah trip via Dubai subject to Saudi allowing Right-Hand side vehicles on special request) and China (although it's very difficult to arrange a road trip from Pakistan to China on own vehicle).
Can I join your expedition with my Motorcycle?
No. Only cars, Jeeps are allowed to join our expedition.
Are your expeditions suitable for solo woman travellers and families?
Our expeditions are ideal for solo travellers (male and female) and families with kids. The average male female ratio on most of our expeditions is 70:30. Families, couples and senior citizens join us frequently in all kinds of expeditions.

Where do we stay during the expedition?
Normally, we stay in 2-star luxury hotels on sharing basis and our package includes breakfast and dinner in the hotel.
The hotels that we use vary in their facilities depending on their location, but for the majority of occasions (although not all) are luxury hotels that include en suite bathroom facilities and often satellite television. The key ingredients are security for the vehicle, WiFi, cleanliness, safety, comfort and location. Sometimes we may stay in an isolated area, a guesthouse on the edge of a remote border crossing, or in a small family run motel; other times in a luxury 2-star hotel.
You must hold a full passport that is valid for at least six months after the end of your chosen expedition and has sufficient pages for visas (if applicable) and all country entry and exit stamps. We will guide you through the process of obtaining documentation for your vehicle. You must have the registration document for your vehicle, which is in your name and shows your current address.
You must also have a valid driving license and International Driving Permit (if applicable) and the name shown must be the same as your passport details.
For Iran visa you don't need anything other than your Passport. For Turkey visa you need:
Passport
Bank statement of last 3 months showing your source of income and a minimum balance of PKR 6 lak
Tax returns in accordance with your source of income
For salaried persons, salary slips of last 3 months is required
NADRA FRC
Thereafter, we will advise you on how to obtain the additional documentation required for driving your vehicle overseas (for example international driving license, carnet de passage, local motorcycle insurance, where available). You are personally responsible for your documentation at all times. Any loss of documents whilst on the expedition can cause significant disruption to you. All direct and indirect costs of replacing documents are your responsibility. In extreme circumstances, you may need to temporarily leave the expedition to organize replacements. Whilst we will use all reasonable efforts to assist you, we cannot delay the expedition schedule, nor can we allocate a dedicated team member simply to accompany you whilst you organize replacements.”
Do I need any special vaccinations?
Vaccination requirements do change regularly. We strongly advise you to consult your doctor or specialist travel vaccination clinic and obtain the recommended vaccinations. Whilst we carry an expedition first aid kit with us, you must bring your own personal travel medical kit. If you have a pre-existing medical condition, you must inform us of this and also have written confirmation from you travel insurers that the condition is covered. If you take any prescription drugs then you must ensure that you have a sufficient supply with you (including contingency supply in case of loss), kept in their original bottles/container, together with a signed letter from your doctor.
It is recommended that you get both doses of your COVID vaccine before joining any of our expeditions.
Where available, we will facilitate the third party insurance to drive your vehicle in the countries that we travel through. Some countries will also require you to buy compulsory local third party insurance at the border.
For all our expeditions, we require a minimum of 5 participants to go ahead.
