Bias and Facial Recognition
Joy Buolamwini experienced bias in facial recognition software during her first semester at MIT. She received computer vision software that was supposed to track her face. It did not work until she put on a white mask. Joy was inspired to create a non-profit and influenced the Coded Bias documentary.
