Join us as we raise money to keep hosting events! We have plans to keep our playtimes going, and we are also planning to expand what we offer to include new and fun events for everyone.
What to expect:
At our dance-a-thon, you can expect a fun dance with music for everyone to dance and enjoy. The dance will be held in the gymnasium, and a quiet relaxing space will be set up in the cafeteria right across from the gym. In the cafeteria, you will find crafts, colouring, and board games, as well as food and drinks - all free! We will have popcorn, chips, and a variety of drinks, including pop, water, and juice boxes. A special thank you to Old Dutch Foods for graciously donating the chips!
In the gym, we will have music playing with decorations and lights to set the party mood. The space will be dimly lit with special coloured lights. There will be no flashing or strobe lights to be seizure-safe. Bathrooms are located in the back of the gymnasium. There will be volunteers watching doors that are unlocked, particularly those leading outside, so that everyone can be safe. Doors leading to the hallways and the remainder of the school will be locked for added safety, leaving the cafeteria and gymnasium as the only rooms available to access.
A table for collecting donations will be set up in the lobby between the gymnasium and cafeteria. We will also have some photo-op areas set up and a photographer (Angela) available to take your free pictures! This is a lovely opportunity for a nice family photo!
Don't forget to enter your name for the door prizes. We have a photography session courtesy of Kathryn Molloy Photography up for grabs; an Epicure gift bag courtesy of Epicure Independent Consultant Roxanne Keats; and a grab bag of sensory items!
A special thank you to those who have contributed to our fundraiser:
