The Pictograph is the record consisting of pictorial symbols. Generally, in mathematics, it is represented by the help of graphs with pictures or icons representing certain quantities or numbers of people, books, etc. It is also known as pictogram, pictogramme, pictorial chart, picture graph, or simply picto. Usually, it is used to represent the statistical data and makes it easier to understand and analyze using pictographs.

In pictographs, the pictogram item, such as an icon, picture, or symbol, can represent one or multiple data units. Pictograms often include a key that indicates how much data is included in each item of the pictogram.

These chart types can be used only with Approach A. Each data series has the width of one or multiple pictogram items, i.e., the data values rounded to the pictogram key. Thus, the second data series always starts from the whole picture.

When comparing two columns, conditional formatting icon sets, such as colored arrows, can give you an excellent visual representation of the comparison. This can be done by using an icon set in combination with a formula that calculates the difference between the values in two columns - the percent change formula works nicely for this purpose.

I have created an excel sheet which has a list of projects with the names of the PM which highlights the submission dates of their status reports. I want to use the icon sets to highlight and show the dates that reflect early submission, late submissions and on time submissions.

Sorry for late reply.

In excel each date can be converted in numbers, hence subtract the submission date with that that of due date, all the negative number reflects before submission, zero reflect on date submission, and positive numbers reflects late submission. Use inverse order as discussed in the blog (Green for negative, yellow for zero and red positive numbers)

NOTE: Appendix C, Section C.2.3.1 of 29 CFR 1910.1200 states the following: Pictograms shall be in the shape of a square set at a point and shall include a black hazard symbol on a white background with a red frame sufficiently wide to be clearly visible. A square red frame set at a point without a hazard symbol is not a pictogram and is not permitted on the label.

I am using 2010 with no liklihood of moving to 2016 for quite some time and have been using icons from the link below to download images. The only downside is that not every image that shows in the excel gallery when linking an image to a macro is available in these files

Can you help me on something else? Instead of using excel as the data source, I like to use MS Access. However, I would like to open the batase and update the specific record data by clicking on the visio form. Can you provide the code? 17dc91bb1f
