2022 update - Spring Cleanup is the weekend of May 20-21.
Every year many members form a work party and clean up brush along the nature trail and Brookside Drive. The date has not been set for 2022. HOA members will be notified in plenty of time beforehand. We have some tools to lend to participants. This is a fun event which builds camaraderie.
Article V of the CC&Rs says that if you start, erect or maintain a building, wall, or fence or make an alteration or change the exterior of those, you must have approval from the Architectural Committee. The same for exterior structure sharing a party wall and for complete re-roofings.
"No building, fence, wall or other structure shall be commenced, erected or maintained upon the Properties, nor shall any exterior addition to or change or alteration therein be made until the plans and specifications showing the nature, kind, shape, height, materials, color, and location of the same shall have been submitted to and approved in writing as to harmony of external design and location in relation to surrounding structures, topography and existing or planned plantings, by the Board of Directors of the Association or by an architectural committee composed of three (3) or more representatives appointed by the Board. Any exterior maintenance of structures sharing a party wall with another structure shall require similar approval. Additionally, complete re-roofing of any dwellings upon the Properties shall conform to the standards then in existence as set by the Board or the architectural committee relating to fire proofing and appearance."
Use the Board tab to find the members of the committee.
Annually we offer HOA members the opportunity to remove yard debris from their personal property and place it in very large debris dumpster rented by the HOA. We recognize living in a forested area causes added cleanup in our area. Members will be notified when it is available, annually during late Spring. It is usually available for one month or until full.
We ask that all members respect the signage on the dumpster, cutting branches to appropriate sizes, placing debris back to front to more easily fill it fully, etc.
The State of Oregon, through a grant program, is trying to cut down on fire danger by mitigation of combustible fuels. EM1 HOA was able to get into the program, which was carried out by the Northwest Youth Corps.
