The trip is from Warragul to Port Douglas (& beyond)
It will include the planing process as well as Q & A section plus once we start the journey a progress report with nice pictures
This image shows how we can drive directly to Port Douglas if we were to follow a direct route. The journey in an EV would need to be adjusted due the availablity of Charging Infastructure.
I am sure sometime in the future it will be possible but in 2023 the trip would involve some careful planning including slow charge stop overs
The google map indicates a distance of 2949 Kms and a summary the direction says
"Take M1, Hume Fwy/National Highway M31, Goulburn Valley Fwy/Shepparton - Seymour Rd/M39, Newell Hwy/A39 ... and State Route 81 to Port Douglas Rd in Queensland"
The route could be through Shepparton,Griffith,Cobar, Bourke,Charleville,Barcaldine,Prairie (close to Hughenden) then pickup the Highway One near Undara then head towards the coast and Port Douglas. The shortest route would bypass the major cities and the coastal tourist resorts.
But the actual route will be more conservative.... check link.
Note: Green locations have EV fast chargers now (May 2023).
