This program is designed to support the academic needs of JCPS students from every school across the district in grades K-6.
We are seeking individuals to participate with small group literacy tutoring during the program.
Tutoring positions available at local non-profit organizations, community centers and schools in the Louisville area
Program operates September 2025 through May 2026
Up to 4 hours per day Monday-Friday, $20/hour (up to 20 hours per week)
Tutors will be trained weekly by our partners, I Would Rather Be Reading, in their Trauma Informed Reading Mentor program
Currently enrolled at a local college or university
Submit unofficial transcript (full document showing all enrolled semesters)
Must be able to tutor, teach, supervise, and be a positive role model
Must successfully pass a background check run by Evolve502

Experience working with JCPS students
Experience with conflict resolution
Previous tutoring experience
Effective oral and written communication skills
Possess good organizational skills
Possess a high level of maturity; be self-disciplined and able to work as part of a team
The above qualifications will be helpful in the position, but are not required.
