Solo/Duo/Trio Bases

These kind of designs are meant as main bases for groups with 1-3 core players.

CONCORD

The Concord is a 2x1 starter base turned into a 3-TC main base with formidable online defense capabilities, including a shooting floor with inner- and outer peekdowns.

The battlements can be retrofitted to any honeycombed 2x1. It's the perfect addon to your starter base in case you suddenly get rich. The expansion can happen at your own pace. As long as you keep an eye on the budget, the build should never break the bank.

UPKEEP: 7.5k Stone, 6k Metal Fragments, 75 HQM

SERENITY

The Serenity is a solo/duo 2x2 base which re-introduces a forgotten type of stability bunker design from 2018. With the recent updates to splash damage, the design got viable again. It allows to build a very simple 2x2 bunker base, that can be a home for a solo or a duo all the way from early wipe to end game.

UPKEEP FULL : 5.8k Stone, 3.6k Metal Fragments, 69 HQM

CHAD SHED

The Chad Shed is cheap, strong, simple 2x2 bunker base. It is targeted at for solos, duos, and maybe trios, who want to focus on playing the game rather than building.

The base grows step-by-step out of a starter unit, starting with a simple 1x1, making it a perfect starter-to-main base. Version 2 introduces a workaround for the conditional roof bunker, that was popular between August and December 2020.

UPKEEP: 574 Stone, 1640 Metal Frags, 50 HQM*

* no worries, you can delay many of the armored upgrades to lower the HQM upkeep significantly

The Aggravator

The Aggravator is your base if you like the Original Frustrator, but are looking for something a bit more compact and affordable. Like the Frustrator, it contains 3 shotgun-protected drop-down loot rooms. It is notable cheaper and features all-around auto-turret protection, while offering the same durability as the Frustrator.

UPKEEP: 2.9 Stone, 2.6k Metal Fragments, 47 HQM

Version 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7MzbWdt4fk

There is also a floor-stacked version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSDCORAj7A0 . Just be aware that after September 2020, you can no longer replace some of the doors in floor-stacked bases after a raid.

UPDATE NOTES: the colliders of vending machines have changed. The TC needs to be placed far enough back, and the door needs to be open during the placement of the vending machine. Test it on a build server before setting up the vending machine in game!

The Mini Frustrator

The Mini Frustrator is the smallest version of my signature Frustrator design. It is built around 2 loot rooms with drop-down chutes that are guarded by undrainable shotgun traps. Thanks to it's excellent use of space, it remains spacious and can even fit a tier 3 work bench. Its low upkeep makes it an ideal main base for solo or duo players.

UPKEEP: 2.6k stone, 1.3k frags, 17 HQM

Version 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7-viiYtVNA

UPDATE NOTES: the colliders of vending machines have changed. They need to be placed close together in the center & facing the front towards you. and then be rotated. Test the details on a build server before using this in game.

PHOENIX V3 (Floor Stacked)

The Phoenix V3 is a bunker base with a minimum raid cost of 27 rockets to the TC. It's key features is the use of floor stacking, which makes the base incredibly strong compared to how unassuming it is.

Uninformed raiders might estimate that a raid through the ceiling will cost 19 rockets: 4 for the visible stone ceiling, 15 in the worst case where there is an armored floor tile above the core. Thanks to the floor stacking, the base has 2 double layers of ceilings, which will turn a raid through the roof a 35 rockets nightmare.

UPKEEP: 3.1k Stone, 2.7k Metal Fragments, 72 HQM

UPDATE WARNING: after the September 2020 update, you may not be able to replace all doors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRl3m4wJbjM

The Hell Maw

The Hell Maw is a solo, duo base design around a fortified core that protects the TC from 27 rockets. The video shows the updated version of the 2018 solo/duo/trio base with a trapped, fortified core. The update comes with more space, a better protected TC, roof access, a minicopter hanger, and electricity-fueled auto turrets.

UPKEEP: 3.4k Stone, 3.3k Metal, 29 HQM

THE RAPTOR

The Raptor is a solo/duo/trio base design around the core of the Original Frustrator, and the premise to have 3 auto turrets guarding all angles around the base.

The base can be built out of a starter unit. In its final form, it provides two hyper-efficient main loot rooms, a tier 3 work bench, a bunker-sealed core (patched!), 3 auto turrets, a minicopter hanger, and an optional shooting floor.

UPKEEP: 1.5k Stone, 3.7k Metal Fragments, 55 HQM

The Raptor V2 is an overhaul for Building 4.0, done by Chris from Cosmonatic Films: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0m3p_VQ5GCo

The Valkyrie

The Valkyrie is a base design probably best used by a duo or a trio. Uses uses a novel type of bunker -- a chain of reinforced glass windows -- to protect the TC from 27 rockets. It therefore represents an efficient alternative to the common stability bunker bases.

The base further offers enough space for a tier 3 work bench, two main loot rooms, and two auxiliary rooms (here used for lockers and beds), which should allow you to use it throughout the wipe

UPKEEP: 4k STONE, 2.3k FRAGS, 22 HQM

PATCH NOTES: the roof stability seal no longer works in Building 4.0, making the door raid 5-rockets cheaper.

The Phoenix

The Phoenix is one of the bases out of which I played a lot myself. This is the second version, which provides roof exit, space for a tier 3 work bench, and auto turret pods to defend from door campers.

The first version introduced the stability bunker where an upgraded roof was placed onto a twig half wall, sealing the entrance of a chute entry above.

UPKEEP: 2.8k stone, 1.5k frags, 20 HQM

Patch Notes: the bases uses the patched 7-box loot rooms. Use the 7.6-box design instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBf7IYC8Wp0

PATCH NOTES: the roof stability seal no longer works in Building 4.0, making the door raid 5-rockets cheaper.

The Leech

The Leech 2 is the second iteration of a pumped-up late-game 2x1 for lazy farmers. It's basically a shrunk version of the Phoenix base design. It makes use of every nook and cranny to fit a tier 3 work bench and lockers. It works perfectly as solo or duo base or as a flanking base in your compound.

UPKEEP: 2.6k Stone, 1.8k Metal Fragments, 19 HQM

Version 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t3Q0Kv5xfw

PATCH NOTES: the roof stability seal no longer works in Building 4.0, making the door raid 5-rockets cheaper.

The Viking

The Viking is a base design proposed by Zedge and optimized by me around the combination of two bunkers: a roof bunker and a stability bunker. Despite its compact size, it takes 27 rockets to breach the TC -- without requiring any blueprint! Furthermore, it has enough space to fit a tier 3 work bench, enabling its use throughout the wipe.

Be warned, though: both bunkers have the weak sides of armored foundations exposed, which means that dedicated raiders can break into them with jack hammers. The successor to this base is the Valkyrie.

UPKEEP: 3.4k stone, 1.4k frags, 41 HQM

12.8-Box Loot Bunker Base

This base is a simple 23-rocket-protected proof-of-concept bunker designed around Lord Desert's 12.8-box loot room. However, it can make a decent solo / duo main base.

UPKEEP: 2.5k frags, 26 HQM

Trinity

The Trinity is my first multi-TC base design for solos/duos/trios. The innovation is that there is no TC in the tower. Instead, the external bases contain a TC each and the tower is upkept from one of them. The base is ideal for small groups that want to focus on early-wipe PVP and don't like to spend metal fragments and HQM on their bases.

UPKEEP: 5k stone, 1.5k metal frags, 7 HQM

PATCH NOTES: founation steps have been removed. The design is no longer viable. ADDER has kindly made a video on a work around.

Stability 2x2

Solo/Duo Stability Bunker Base for Building 3.2 -- featuring a hidden, underground basement for your most precious loot. The design is quite outdated, but I haven't seen many people use stability bunkers this way

Upkeep: 2.1k Metal, 2.5k Stone

Patch Notes: the design is quite old, so expect many things to not work quite the same anymore. The basic principle, however, is still valid.
