Group Bases

Group Bases

Group Bases are meant for more than 3 players. I would usually expect about 4-8 players in the group.

THE WATERLOO

The Waterloo is a group base with 4 separated roof bunkers. It can be built out of a standard 2x2 starter base and turns into a multi-TC fortress.

The bunkers make it significantly stronger than the Alamo, in particular if it gets online raided.

UPKEEP: 18k Stone, 17k Metal Frags, 313 HQM.

THE ALAMO

The Alamo is a Multi-TC 2x2 with formidable online defense capabilities, including a shooting floor with inner and outer peekdowns.

The battlements can be retrofitted to virtually any 2x2, making this an idea solution to expand your 2x2 starter base - in case you suddenly get rich but made enemies in the process. The expansion can happen at your own pace. As long as you keep an eye on the budget, the build should never break the bank.

UPKEEP: 8k Stone, 15k Metal Fragments, 198 HQM (all 3 TCs when fully extended and upgraded)

PATCH NOTES: the roof stability bunker no longer works in Building 4.0. This is not critical, as the bunker ultimately does not increase the minimum raid cost. Use additional shotgun traps to guard the chutes to make door raids more difficult and costly.

THE TYCHO

The Tycho is a RUST multi-TC group base for 3-6 players. It features 3 splash-separated roof bunkers for your main loot.

UPKEEP: 6k Stone, 9k Metal Frags, 150 HQM

The Original Frustrator

This is the third iteration of the original Frustrator base, my signature design. It combined the concept of unlootable lootrooms with a setup that you normally would find in trap bases: drop-down chutes with undrainable traps.

UPKEEP: 8k Stone, 7k Metal Fragments, 111 HQM

PATCH NOTES: the main loot rooms of the Version X are no longer unlootable, since you cannot any longer place stairs when there are boxes on the ground

Das Bunker

Das Bunker is a group base built around an underground stability bunker. The bunker is designed in a way that casual raiders may not even notice that they are missing the TC and the best loot. We got offline-raided several times in this base, and the raiders missed the bunker, allowing us to bounce back easily. It was meant to protect from 31 rockets from all angles, which, however, requires a few upgrades.

UPKEEP: 4.3k stone, 4.1k frags, 41 HQM

THE RETALIATOR

The Retaliator is a compact and affordable multi-TC base for active trios and small groups. It focuses on provided online raid defensibility through external and internal peekdowns, as well as an integrated compound. The base consists of 4 parts upkept by 4 TCs to keep the upkeep manageable.

The central TC maintains the core, which doubles as starter unit. Three external TCs upkeep the honeycomb with the peekdowns. The design further neatly integrates a compound early on, which makes it easy to smelt the required metal quickly.

UPKEEP: 10.8k Stone, 7.6k Metal Fragments, 123 HQM (sum of all 4 TCs)

PATCH NOTES: since foundation steps are removed, it is important to build those 3 outer triangles tips early and connect them to the main base via a roof ramp.

MULTI-TC PEEKDOWN BASE (Concept)

This base is a concept of a small group base showcasing how to build multi-TC bases without the tedious process of building out 8 squares and come back with 4 half-moons.

The base is optimized towards online-raid defense and comes with a double layer of internal peekdowns.

Further, the outer parts can be retrofitted at any stage. The core is a 1x3, inspired by the Phoenix V2, that can be used as starter or even as temporary main base until you are ready to expand.

UPKEEP: ca 8k Stone, 7k Metal Fragments, 90 HQM

THE CHADSAW

The Chadsaw is a multi-TC 2x2 RUST Base Design with Outer- and Inner Peekdowns. It consists of a core 2x2 and 4 outer parts. Thanks to only offsetting 2 of the 4 outer foundations, it's less of a hassle to build, and the resulting gaps between the parts are much smaller.

UPKEEP: 4k Stone, 6k Metal Fragments, 76 HQM (sum of all 5 TCs)

PATCH NOTES: you can no longer place the roofs as shown in this build, which means you cannot close off the ceiling.

The Exasperator

The Exasperator is a group base around a 30-rocket armored bunker that uses the Cursed Cauldron to pass loot through 2 (armored) walls. It further features 4 perfectly-separated dropdown loot rooms, an open living and crafting area, and a novel spiderman entrance.

With this little update, the Cursed Cauldron can be replaced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=558cs0v1XrM&t=2m24s [cheers Rust Daddy!]

It comes in two versions: in the minimal version, the base is ruthlessly optimized towards efficiency. In the extended version, it further features a shooting floor, 2 minicopter hangars, and 4 external auto turrets.

UPKEEP (Minimal Version): 2.2k Stone, 3.2k Metal Fragments, 34 HQM

UPKEEP (Extended Version): 4.2k Stone, 4.3k Metal Fragments, 128 HQM

PATCH NOTES: the Cursed Cauldron trick might no longer work

Quadruple Stability Bunker

The Quadruple Bunker is a proof-of-concept base that has 4 separated stability bunkers which can be opened from the same basement. This means that instead of spawning in 4 bunkers (and waiting out the 300 second bag timer several times), all bunkers are opened at once.

UPKEEP: 212 wood, 3.8k frags, 52 HQM

PATCH NOTES: patched in Building 4.0 since foundation steps were removed

The (Other) Frustrator

With the success of the Original Frustrator, I built a large version of it which had 4 drop-down loot rooms. With its shooting floor, the Frustrator brought back a bit of pre-Building 3.0 feeling. Unfortunately, the base as a few weaknesses and it ended up being quite expensive, which prevented it from becoming a success like the original design. It still works quite well though if raiders are not aware of those weaknesses.

UPKEEP: 8k Stone, 11k Metal, 40 HQM

MACK - The PVPers TANKY CLAN BASE

Mack is a base by Zedge, designed for PVPers who do not want to stress themselves with complicated build steps.
