Attentional economics theory supports the creation of systems whose design takes into account the attention span, creating filters to ensure that the first content presented to a user is relevant and of interest.

The safety risk of the human attention threshold Based on the theory of attention economy, most of the security control centers and the corresponding current video surveillance systems present a wealth of information to the staff, causing a poverty of attention. Several studies have shown a disturbing trend in the performance of operators:

1. Security operators' performance falls considerably after 20 minutes.

2. Poor image quality accelerates this decline in attention.

3. The display of a double number of cameras doubles that drop in attention. The concept of video analysis technology consists in presenting only the information that requires the immediate attention of an operator. However, the vast majority of these systems create a disproportionate amount of irrelevant information that contributes to the confusion and inactivity of the operators.
